Dr. Gichuhi is a consultant ophthalmologist with special interest in corneal transplants and cataract surgery.
After Masters training in the University of Nairobi in 1998 he worked at the Kikuyu Eye Unit later becoming the director of the unit. He sat and passed the basic science in 1996 and clinical sections in 1999 of the International examinations conducted by the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO). He has had training exposure in the UK and South Africa.
He is a founder member of the Eastern Africa College of Ophthalmologists (EACO) and is an ardent advocate of evidence-based medicine. He consults part-time at UHEAL and trains ophthalmologists at the University of Nairobi.
